Washington DC Meet-up: Women Transforming Food & Finance

Jun 5, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Washington, DC
Event Summary

With six years left to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG2 – the global goal to end hunger and all forms of malnutrition – there is an urgency to align financing at scale to reach the communities and countries being left behind, where food insecurity and malnutrition are rising. This lively meetup will include networking and a chance to hear reflections on trends in financing for food security and nutrition, innovative financing options, and challenges and opportunities related to the current institutional financing architecture. While there will be a short series of presentations, others will be invited to share their perspectives and feedback and the focus will be on networking and co-learning. The financing arena suffers from a dearth of women, including in leadership roles, so this event aims to forge new connections between the women in Washington, DC who are interested in these topics or career paths.
